Hanoi

The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is a bustling cosmopolitan city where most of it is built on Red River Delta. It presents a blend of the modernisation amongst the well-preserved colonial architecture.

Hanoi is one of the top hot spots for tourists, with its rich food cuisine and deep cultural experiences. One of the most common (uncommon) sights you will find here is the sea of scooters, bikes and bicycles on the city roads which can be a daunting experience to cross the roads here especially for first-timers.

One of the main tourist destinations here is the Old Quarter, also serving as the city's business hub. There are many well-preserved architecture here from the colonial buildings to the beautifully decorated temples. The streets here are closed off on the weekends and evenings, making way for food stalls selling a variety of Vietnamese delicacies. Talking about street food culture, Bia Hoi Junction is another favourite spot among the locals, expats and tourists.

Halong Bay

Halong Bay is a beautiful serene spot in northern Vietnam near the border of China. Located just outside the city of Hanoi, Halong Bay, with its turquoise waters and emerald green mountain, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bay was named Halong, which means descending dragon, due to its mountains and rock formations.

There are over 1,900 islets with pristine beaches here. The best way to take in the beautiful sights is to hop on a boat, whether a luxurious cruiser or a traditional junk boat. You could also opt for a leisure kayaking too.

Halong Bay is also rich in seafood and there are several floating restaurants here that you can visit for the freshest catch, served in Vietnamese style.

Ho Chi Minh

Located in southeast Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is another large and vibrant city that has a prominent history going back hundreds of years. It is also the business and financial hub of Vietnam. It is a popular tourist destination due to its fascinating culture, a colourful nightlife and energetic vibes. The buildings here are a blend of modern skyscrapers and shopping malls with traditional architecture like the Giac Lam Pagoda, the oldest temple here in Ho Chi Minh City.

Stroll down along the streets and explore the vibrant street food culture and dig into some delicious bánh mì ốp la in a humble street stall or head into one of the fancier restaurants and experience the local cuisine.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels and experience what it was like for the soldiers during the Vietnam War in the 1960s. This immense network of tunnels spans over 200 km, serving as storage facilities, supply routes, hospitals and living quarters.

Today, Cu Chi Tunnels has been preserved by the government and has become a popular tourist attraction, where visitors crawl around and explore the safer (but still claustrophobic) parts of the tunnel system.

Mekong River

The twelfth largest river in the world and the longest river in Southeast Asia, Mekong River flows through six different countries - China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. From the interesting floating markets to supporting vast agricultural industries, It is aptly called the ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam, providing sustenance for millions.

There are many different cruise options available on the Mekong River. You can view the stunning scenery and local villages from the water. Take a boat trip down the river and experience the floating markets and take a glimpse into the way of life for the locals.
