Halong Bay is a beautiful serene spot in northern Vietnam near the border of China. Located just outside the city of Hanoi, Halong Bay, with its turquoise waters and emerald green mountain, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bay was named Halong, which means descending dragon, due to its mountains and rock formations.

There are over 1,900 islets with pristine beaches here. The best way to take in the beautiful sights is to hop on a boat, whether a luxurious cruiser or a traditional junk boat. You could also opt for a leisure kayaking too.

Halong Bay is also rich in seafood and there are several floating restaurants here that you can visit for the freshest catch, served in Vietnamese style.

Located in southeast Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is another large and vibrant city that has a prominent history going back hundreds of years. It is also the business and financial hub of Vietnam. It is a popular tourist destination due to its fascinating culture, a colourful nightlife and energetic vibes. The buildings here are a blend of modern skyscrapers and shopping malls with traditional architecture like the Giac Lam Pagoda, the oldest temple here in Ho Chi Minh City.

Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels and experience what it was like for the soldiers during the Vietnam War in the 1960s. This immense network of tunnels spans over 200 km, serving as storage facilities, supply routes, hospitals and living quarters.

Today, Cu Chi Tunnels has been preserved by the government and has become a popular tourist attraction, where visitors crawl around and explore the safer (but still claustrophobic) parts of the tunnel system.
